On Saturday 10th December Step Into MY Shoes cic. held their first fundraising event for the non-profit organisation.
They are a small team who, along with their supporters, feel passionate about working with people living life with ill health. The fundraising is to run workshops, enabling people living with emotional or physical illnesses, to discover new ways to overcome barriers, build confidence and to improve the quality of their own lives and those that support them.
Working alongside Tallons Owltimate Experience, Kernow Archery and other supporters they aim to give people the opportunity to experience something new, learn new skills and be distracted from their everyday struggles.
The Xmas Fare was attended by the Mayoress of Liskeard who is a keen supporter of the new project. For those that braved the bad weather, the stars of the event were the owls, giant rabbits, snakes, spiders and hedgehogs from Tallons Owltimate Experience. Other stalls included crafts, homemade cakes, jewelry, tombola, raffle and refreshments. Santa and Mrs Clause dropped in for refreshments and to see the children. A lovely afternoon was had by all and the team wish to thank all those who supported them at the event and through pre-event sales.
The team are looking forward to the coming year and to the further development of their workshops.
